A template is a piece of wikitext that can be inserted into a page. Mostly used to aid in formatting and to duplicate common content.

==Usage==
Templates can be used by adding markup to the page:
{{bc|<nowiki>{{Template name}}</nowiki>}}
Templates can take additional arguments, such as [[Template:Note]]:
{{bc|<nowiki>{{Note|note|this text is a note.}}</nowiki>}}
with the output:
{{Note|note|this text is a note.}}

Sometimes named parameters can be used:
{{bc|<nowiki>{{hc|head=main.c|output=#include <stdint.h>}}</nowiki>}}
With the output
{{hc|head=main.c|output=#include <stdint.h>}}

The general format is:

{{bc|<nowiki>{{Template name|param1|param2|...}}</nowiki>}}
Each template has a page with usage instructions and examples.
